Cameron Solutions provides backup mail services for short term storage and relay purposes to cover mail delivery in the event that your primary mail handler is unavailable. This server operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and will queue mail for your domains for a period of up to 24 hours before relaying the mail back to your server.
Caveats:
- If the downtime exceeds 24 hours, intervention by our support team will be required.
- Logging on this server is limited to a 5 day retention period for your privacy.
- Backup mail services will only function for domains specified during purchase of package, or as previously discussed with Cameron Solutions.
- Users are asked to please notify Cameron Solutions 24 hours in advance when known maintenance or downtime may occur. This allows monitoring alerts to be tuned for specific events.
- Any logging requests must be submitted to [email protected], and will be responded to within 24-48 hours.
- CS Backup MX Server does not provide any mail services other than SMTP, and web interface access. POP/IMAP/Etc will fail when connecting to this server.
Known Issues:
- DNS propagation can take up to 72 hours in some cases! Please allow time for these records to update across the internet before relying on CS Backup MX.
- Domain validation can fail at times during the first few rounds of incoming mail, so we recommend testing mail delivery for all domains before deploying as production. Test procedures can be acquired from CS Support.
